Real London Tours - our Tours

Real London Tours focuses on private tours to give people the personal attention and flexibility for their London experience. The day belongs to you, so we can add, subtract or substitute specific sites within a private tours itinerary as long as they fit within the time frame of the tour.

We also understand that certain groups might want to take longer lunches, more time at specific sites, or perhaps want to simply walk slower. Depending on these factors we may or may not be able to hit all the sites mentioned on our tour itineraries. Please keep this in mind when taking your 500th picture of the pigeons in Trafalgar Square! Our tours are done by underground and walking so if you have any serious mobility issues please let us know ahead of time so we can discuss an itinerary and other options that are available to you.

Real London Tours goes out in rain, snow or shine. We do have indoor options sites we can visit on bad weather days. This will lessen (not eliminate) the amount of outside time we spend in bad weather. Real London Tours does reserve the option to cancel a tour if we think the weather could be hazardous. If you want to cancel your tour because of bad weather or for any other reason we require a 48 hour notice and you will not be charged. So please do keep a close watch on the weekly weather report for our area during the time of your planned visit.

THE BIG SMOKE Private Tour - Central

Our main central London ‘Big Smoke’ Tour – this one will take you everywhere you’d want to go in Central London, but being Real London Tours, we’ll be showing and telling you things you might never see and hear by yourself or other tours – as we show you these iconic sights we’ll tell you the history, the secrets, the side-streets and the best ways to see more of the stuff you’re most interested in, as well as the best places to eat, drink and have fun during your stay in London.  Imagine having a best friend in London who is showing you round for the day – book this tour and you now have that friend!

Bad Weather:
The tour still goes ahead in all weathers!  Bring an umbrella or a raincoat, and we'll visit the same sites - we just may spend more time indoors if it's really raining hard!

Footwear:
No stilettos - this tour covers a lot of ground!

THE BIG SMOKE Private Tour - Central and East

A different spin on our main central London tour, we miss out the main shopping districts of Bond Street, Oxford Street and Mayfair (you can equally explore these yourself if you have the time, and money!)  This gives us a bit more time after lunch in Covent Garden to explore further East – this tour covers even more ground than the central Big Smoke Tour so appropriate footwear even more required please!

THE SMOKE RINGS Group Tour - Central and East (for the Olympics)
Tuesday, Friday and Saturday @ 10am

We start in central London at St James Park for some of the iconic sites that you'll see during the Olympics like Horse Guards Parade and the Mall.  We'll take in Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and stop in Covent Garden for lunch. We then jump on the underground to explore further East, stopping first at Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, and then on into the main areas that will be home to the Games in July and August this year.   You'll see how the east End has been redeveloped to produce some of the spectacular venues for this year's Games, and we'll show you the sides of these areas that you won't see on other tours, the real Londoners that live in here and the rich, incredible history to this part of London.   A true cross section of London, just right for 2012!

Great for those people perhaps on a budget and still want to get a private tour feel.  The tours are open to only 12 guests to keep things intimate. Underground costs will roughly be £8, so your best bet would be to purchase an Oyster Card and load it up with enough cash. For lunch we will stop in Covent Garden for some amazing food before we jump across to the East End.

This tour moves at a rapid pace. If you have any mobility issues that prevent you from walking long distances at a quick pace we suggest you book a private tour which allows you to walk at your leisure.

Tour departs at 10:00 a.m. One of our guides will meet you outside the Ritz Hotel near the phone boxes there, right next to Green Park underground station. The tour frequently ends in Stratford but this is subject to change - from there it's just a 15 min underground ride back into the West End or Southbank on the Central or Jubilee lines. Your guide can assist you in directions on how to get back to your next destination.

For those folks who perhaps don't have time for the Big Smoke Tour, the Quick Smoke will certainly at least wet your whistle and leaving you yearning for more. There are two options for the Quick Smoke Tour. The Central Quick Smoke and the Quick Smoke - East.

For those wanting to explore another part of London, try our Quick Smoke Tour of East London – Whitechapel, Brick Lane and The City - this is Real London.  We’ll take in the rich history and culture of this part of town, and we know you’ll be back during your stay if you can!  You’ll get these sites too on the Big Smoke Tour (Central and East) so if you can spare the 6 hours, we do recommend that one instead, which gives you a tour on the whole of Central and East London.
